Perhaps what started the rumor that Sarah Burton will be designing Kate Middleton’s wedding dress is the insiders’ prior knowledge that Burton will be sending wedding dresses as the final looks for Alexander McQueen Fall 2011.
In true McQueen spirit that Burton so skillfully continues, none of them were banal or traditional. Not quite white and highly textural, one dress was even harnessed with a black belt/necklace type contraption. Perhaps it was wishful thinking that caused those Kate Middleton rumors, as who wouldn’t want to see a future princess (pardon the monarchical term) walk down the isle in an edgy gown.
