Yesterday evening the Council of Fashion Designers of America - CFDA - announced their list of nominees in the running for the 2011 CFDA Awards. The ceremony which will be held at Lincoln Center on June 6 will also honor Celine's Phoebe Philo with the International Award, Marc Jacobs with Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award and Telegraph's Hilary Alexander with the Eugenia Sheppard Award. Marking it's 10 year, Swarovski will once again sponsor the Emerging Womenswear Designer and Emerging Accessories Designer awards.

If there was ever a fashion item that was an investment piece, this must be it. Pamela Love added 'handbag designer' to her resume when she created this collection for The List - Revolve Clothing's boutique-within-a-boutique of exclusive, limited edition, one-of-a-kind (you get the drift) objects. The collection consists of 1920's inspired oh-so-rocker chic flapper purses made entirely out of metal.

Each year a new emerging talent wins a cool $200,000, with two runner-ups receiving a more modest $50,000. Past winners include Alexander Wang, Doo-Ri Chung and Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough (of Proenza Schouler).
