Bambi In 10 Magazine Spring 2011 Issue Wearing Lanvin

10 Magazine brings us it’s latest issue showcasing the best of Spring 2011. They are doing something different in the sense that their editorials are named after the model featured in it. This time the model Bambi was photographed by Tierney Gearon for an eloquently named story Bambi. One of FrankReps’ many talented artists, Kadu Lennox, designed the set.

Jil Sander, Antonio Berardi, Gareth Pugh, Kenzo, Chloe, Burberry Prossum, Chanel, Lanvin, Givenchy, Proenza Schouler and Ralph Lauren’s Spring 2011 collections are all featured in Bambi’s story.

Anja Rubic Vogue Australia April 2011 Edge Of Forever David Jones Poncho

Anja Rubik was photographed by Max Doyle for a Vogue Australia April 2011 editorial Edge of Forever. In a rather anti-utopian setting, à la Mad Max, stylist Naomi Smith juxtaposes the rawness of a vast deserted plain with nothing but a primitively-made of scraps vehicle in sight with Balenciaga’s technological fabrics and Christopher Kane’s neons. Edge of Forever has Rubik in Spring 2011 looks by the likes of Chanel, Christopher Kane, Miu Miu, Ann Demeulemeester and Balenciaga.

Oscars 2011 Red Carpet Worst Dressed Nicole Kidman Scarlett Johansson

None of the Red Carpet looks at yesterday’s 2011 Oscars were that awful. As I said before, no one other than Cate Blanchett really attempted to make a fashion statement. The advantage of that, I suppose, is that no one had a total fiasco as well. Some were boring, some were too plain, and others simply tacky. I noticed that people liked Jennifer Lawrence’s red Calvin Klein. While I thought she looked good, the dress looked too casual and bore strong resemblance to a Baywatch bathing suit. Natalie Portman was another disappointment. I always look forward to seeing what contemporary designer’s look she’ll wear, but this time, even though it was Rodarte, the dress could have been anyone’s. It was under-designed and quite bland.

Check out our 2011 Oscars Worst Dressed list below and be sure to stop by our 2011 Oscars Best Dressed list as well.

Halle Berry wore a nude Marchesa gown with a long tulle trail. She needs to try a different silhouette, this one made her appear boxy and unoriginal.

After Michelle Williams‘ depressing 2011 Golden Globes look, I was hoping to see an improvement. Wearing a pearl embellished Chanel dress should have made a difference. But no, she still ended up looking dowdy. Williams is withering before our eyes. She needs an intervention.

Shaun Robinson wore this blue Christiane King number. Just … no.

Considering the fact that Anne Hathaway was the hosting the event, I expected her step it up and wear something more daring as her first look for the evening. But no such luck. She wore a rather boring and plain vintage Valentino gown that didn’t have any of the sylish-ness of Sandra Bullock’s red Vera Wang gown.

Helena Bonham Carter probably doesn’t care. And good for her, I wouldn’t too. But she’ll end up in this list anyway. Carter an odd velvet number by a costume designer Colleen Atwood.

Penelope Cruz wore a wine-red L’Wren Scott gown. The heavy and sparkling embroidery made it look quite tacky and didn’t seem like a good Red Carpet fit at all.

Natalie Portman, rather unsurprisingly, wore a purple chiffon Rodarte gown. What did surprise me was that it was a completely plain and ordinary gown, lacking in design and style – the two things you always expect to find in a Rodarte look.

Jennifer Lawrence wore a red Calvin Klein Collection gown. While I usually love Calvin Klein’s sharp and minimalistic charm, I’m afraid on Lawrence it ended up looking like a Baywatch top style dress.

Scarlett Johansson wore a berry colored lace Dolce & Gabbana dress. Not really sure what happened there but it looked tacky and unimpressive.

I really wish I could put Nicole Kidman and her Dior Haute Couture gown on the Best Dressed list in support of John Galliano. But I can’t. The dress just wasn’t right. It ended up looking like a quilted embroidered blanket.

Mila Kunis W Magazine March 2011 Cover Wearing Chanel

Mila Kunis is on the cover of forthcoming W Magazine March 2011 issue wearing a Chanel Spring 2011 tulle and feathers coat. March 2011 cover was photographed by Craig McDean.

Black Chanel tulle and feathers very much befit the still promoted Black Swan movie, however that pink bra leaves much to be desired. Perhaps a more expensive looking lingerie would work better on a cover. La Perla?

Worst Dressed 2011 SAG Awards

Some managed to shine at the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards last night. And others … should have looked twice in a mirror before leaving the house.

I noticed a long time ago that from some reason, critics tend to judge harshly svelte starlets’ outfits while either leaving their more heavy counterparts alone or giving them special props for not leaving the house in a tent. Well, I am going to break this tradition. Be they fat, huge-breasted or simply pregnant ladies. Considering how many people are uprising, demanding designers and magazines to cater to heavy (I’m not willing to use the term “real”) women, then we should be able to superficially judge their red-carpet looks just the same. They can’t have their cake and eat it too (however tempting that sounds, I’m sure).

I hated that Hervé Léger dress the moment I saw in the Hervé Léger Spring 2011 collection and to be quite honest, I never expected to see it on the red carpet. Sure, some are still rocking the classic Hervé Léger dresses like it’s 2007, but Kate Mara went and chose an especially ugly and busy gown.

Christina Hendricks looks so sultry and gorgeous in Mad Men. She really should learn that wearing a corseted undergarment and sucking it in is the only way she can pull of this heavy-with-giant-breasts look she’s going for. Hendricks wore a rather unflattering number by L’Wren Scott.

Winona Ryder looked like a bride just left at the altar in a white Alberta Ferretti gown. Creepy indeed.

Angie Harmon wore a powder-pink Monique Lhuillier gown with ostrich feather oversize bell skirt. This dress belongs in a burlesque show, ready to be torn away, not on the red carpet.

Unlike Tina Fey who saved her red dress on the red carpet look by wearing it in a textured fabric, Valerie Bertinelli opted for a plain fabric red dress, thus completely blending in with the carpet. Not the effect she was going for I’m sure. It’s especially unfortunate because her new figure is stunning.

Just once I’d like to see Mariska Hargitay wearing a fitted dress that is actually fitted … to her. Hargitay wore a violet Isaac Mizrahi that could have been saved had it been fitted better at the bodice.

Jennifer Lawrence wore a fuchsia Oscar de la Renta gown with a black belt and pumps for contrast. The color might be bold, but the styling is so safe and banal that it crossed over from a prestigious awards event to prom night.

Amber Riley wore a black Anne Barge dress. The mermaid gown look is really getting old, I’m not even sure why designers decided it looks good on a woman’s body in the first place.

Jane Krakowski looked so good at the 2011 Golden Globes, but unfortunately disappoints this time with a one-shoulder Badgley Mischka that made her look boxy.

Dianna Agron looks cute in a navy Chanel dress. The length of the skirt is rather odd and the whole look seems more cocktail than red carpet.

In Christian Dior (L), in Chanel (R)

After walking countless Spring 2011 Ready-to-wear Fashion Week shows around the world, Lindsey Wixson took Spring 2011 Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week by storm as well. Walking one show everyday out of the total three days of Haute Couture, the 16 year old was definitely a star. You couldn’t miss that signature pout under the heavy couture styling even if you tried.

This Haute Couture season, Lindsey Wixson walked Spring 2011 runways of Christian Dior, Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier.
