Breaking (Rumor): Tom Ford For H&M. But probably not.

Breaking (Rumor): Tom Ford For H&M. But probably not.

It just might be that the internet is so bored on Thanksgiving (seriously, is anyone here?) that it started a rumor. The information seems to come from The French Tribune. They claim that Tom Ford For H&M limited-edition collection is coming up and will consist of pieces shown in French Vogue December 2010 that Ford himself edited.

Tom Ford For H&M would be against everything Tom Ford stands for. Ever since staging his Spring 2011 comeback collection to a selected audience while tightly controlling it's exposure to media and celebrities, Ford told anyone who would listen that he's all about exclusivity. Ford went as far as denouncing fast fashion and explained that he keeps his collection hidden until time comes so ...

Karl Lagerfeld To Design Macy’s Capsule Fall 2011 Collection

Karl Lagerfeld To Design Macy’s Capsule Fall 2011 Collection

When Karl Lagerfeld said he's going masstige, he meant business. The announced Karl Lagerfeld capsule collection for Macy's has nothing to do with Lagerfeld's planned signature masstige collection that is also set to arrive next fall. In fact the Karl Lagerfeld For Macy's is not even that masstige, but it does indicate he said goodbye to luxury. At least far as signature collections go.

The Karl Lagerfeld For Macy's collection is set to arrive to around 250 Macy's stores (including online) in September 2011. It will be sold in the store's Impulse department - hosting a different guest designer every two months.

January Jones Is The New Face Of Versace For Spring 2011

January Jones Is The New Face Of Versace For Spring 2011

I suppose we should have seen it coming after seeing January Jones rocking an electric blue Versace dress at the Emmys back in August and then sitting front row while wearing Versace at the Versace Spring 2011 runway show in Milan. Clearly, January Jones is into Versace and now she'll be the face and star of Versace's Spring 2011 campaign.

If it means we'll be seeing even more Versace worn to events then I'm totally down with it!

Gap X Valentino Collaboration Arrives In Europe

Gap X Valentino Collaboration Arrives In Europe

That Gap X Valentino collaboration collection has finally arrived to Gap's brand new Milan store and will reach London and Paris next week.

Gap X Valentino is basically Valentino gone utilitarian. A lot of ruffles and bows in canvas. Valentino is not the only high-fashion brand collaboration for sale in Gap right now. With that Valentino coat you can also pick up a pair of Pierre Hardy shoes.

I'm not a cargo pants fan (maybe that's why I don't know how the inside of a Gap store looks) but this coat is definitely something special.

Dolce & Gabbana Officially Charged With Tax Evasion

Dolce & Gabbana Officially Charged With Tax Evasion

Seems that Dolce & Gabbana's 1B tax problem didn't go away. A few months ago it came to light that Italian authorities are not happy that Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce have a Luxembourg-based company (Gado Srl) holding the Dolce & Gabbana brand. What makes them even more unhappy is that in 2004 Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce "sold" the D&G and Dolce & Gabbana brands to their own Luxembourg company (thus transferring their brands' ownership from Italy to Luxembourg) for a measly $447.8. The Italian tax authorities allege that that number should have been much higher - around $1.37 billion and thus the tax paid on the transaction should have been much higher.

Dolce & Gabbana in response claim ...

Forever 21 Invades Upmarket: Opens On Fifth Avenue, Plans For Oxford Street

Forever 21 Invades Upmarket: Opens On Fifth Avenue, Plans For Oxford Street

It is not long ago that Forever 21 opened a giant new flagship at Times Square. You would think it was their thing - going after the tourists and the masses. But apparently they have a more complex, much more evil plan in mind.

Today Forever 21 opens a new store at 693 Fifth Avenue, thus becoming the immediate neighbor of Bottega Veneta, Giorgio Armani, Emilio Pucci, Omega and the list goes on. So while shopping for a $3,000 bag, you can pop in for a $19 dress. Forever 21 does state that items available in the new store are of higher quality than usual - without upping the price range.

London's upmarket neighborhoods aren't safe either. Forever 21 just signed a ...

Of A Kind: First Tumblr Store For Emerging Designers

Of A Kind: First Tumblr Store For Emerging Designers

Of A Kind is a new kind of online store. A Tumblr online store. Of A Kind started as a blog about, well, cool stuff, but have upped the stakes and instead of just curating them as a bystander, they now actually help bring new things, mostly accessories, into the world.

Each week Of A Kind will pick a different emerging designer. That designer will be heavily promoted in content, but most importantly their designed item will be sold in the Of A Kind store that week.

In what's a truly revolutionary move though, the weekly picked designer's item production will be funded by Of A Kind. I believe it will bring even cooler and more experimental designers to light.

My one ...
