Amy Smilovic has really outdone herself with the new Tibi Fall 2011 collection and even a model’s fall on the runway towards the end of the show couldn’t spoil that.
Seeing a model fall on the runway really makes you skip a heartbeat. What will she do, how will she save this? In Tibi Fall 2011 runway case – she will smile, take off the culprit shoes and keep walking without loosing face. Wearing an asymmetric mid-calf length dress in a red-and-black print has an effect on you – that of ease and confidence.
But enough about the mishap. The collection, as it was inadvertently proven, is about easy chic and quirky luxury. Or is quirky chic and easy luxury? All of the above would be a good answer. Smilovic gave us so many dresses to choose from – knit or satin, shift or sheath, mini or maxi, day or cocktail – just pick if you want it in a shimmer, a print, or an earthy neutral tone. Need a shearling coat or a jacket to throw over it? You got it. And that is the genius of Amy Smilovic. Without fuss or pretense, she creates luxurious, fresh and youthful pieces we all want to wear.
