Alright, so maybe January Jones is a bit older than the other three. Still, one has to ask, why are high fashion houses suddenly obsessed with Hollywood ‘It’ girls? And who is behind it?
Leighton Meester is the most recent high-fashion-gone-Hollywood announcement. Meester will be the face of Missoni Spring 2011 ad campaign. The announcement comes after last week we learned that her Gossip Girl co-star, Blake Lively, will be the face of Chanel Spring 2011 handbags ad campaign and Rumer Willis, Bruce Willis’ daughter, will head the forthcoming Badgley Mischka campaign. Perhaps the choice of Leighton Meester and Blake Lively for Chanel and Missoni respectively can be explained by the girls’ recent trip to Paris during Haute Couture Fashion Week and their heavy presence in the most coveted runway shows front rows (and a gentle nudge by Anna Wintour). And as for January Jones and Rumer Willis… Jones has been wearing Versace for years, so this was only a matter of time and Willis’ choice for Badgley Mischka will forever remain a mystery.
