Fashion Lover’s Emmy Awards 2010 worst dress list
Yesterday I showed you our best dressed list. It consists of ladies wearing not only stunning, appropriately styled dresses, but most importantly, they were wearing a dress that suited them and their shape. They had the total look.
But here. Now. We gather for a reason somewhat sadder. The top ten worst dressed ladies.
I must explain. Some of the ladies that were picked might be brilliant actresses, stunning beauties and (or) wearing some of the best designers. But, they had the misfortune of picking a dress that just didn’t work for them.
So, let’s get to it.
Christina Hendricks. A stunner? Yes. In anything other than this dress. Stuffing all her womanly glory into a washed out lilac Zac Posen Resort 2011 ballgown doesn’t make her look classic. It makes her look like a fringed cupcake princess mess. I realize she didn’t want to do the sexy vixen look again, but she needs to take hard look at what happened here and draw the right conclusions so it shall not repeat.
Dianna Agron is wearing a powder pink and black lacy strapless Carolina Herrera Resort 2011 gown. Nothing really is wrong with the dress or Agron herself. But this is the perfect example for a situation where the dress ends up wearing you and not the other way around. She really should have gone with something more toned down, minimal even.
Anna Paquin makes it really hard for me. I love Alexander McQueen, but I cannot just ignore the fact that this Alexander McQueen Resort 2011 dress is all wrong for Paquin’s shape and height. The bottom of the gown has shortened her legs and Paquin herself by quite a few inches and didn’t do Paquin’s toned body any justice. The Resort 2011 collection by the way was designed by McQueen’s successor – Sarah Burton.
Jewel went a little overboard with the nude/tan hues, donning a nude strapless Zuhair Murad Fall 2010 Couture gown. I don’t know where Jewel ends and dress begins.
Glenn Close. Brilliant actress but this is an unfortunate shapeless taffeta gown. It shall not be named.
Sofia Vergara‘s lemon hue strapless Carolina Herrera gown had the chance to be something great. But then came the sequin embellishments and took it away. To tacky town.
Rita Wilson is wearing a Prada Spring 2010 dress with matching Prada glass heels. Just … no.
Alight, now these last three … I really don’t think I even need to comment.
