rodarte fall 2010 look
At this point it’s all speculation, but WWD brings to light some very interesting facts. Apparently LVMH and Rodarte have been in on-and-off talks about an acquisition since spring. In February earlier this year, the CEO of LVMH’s fashion division, Pierre-Yves Roussel, was even sitting front row at the Rodarte Fall runway show, citing love for the brand as his reason to being there.

If an acquisition would indeed take place, it would raise questions as to possible transformations to the Rodarte brand. Currently, Rodarte is all about buzz and exclusivity with a sky high pricing model that competes with that of Balmain. Still, it’s yearly revenues are only around $2 million and it has seen losses. It should be noted however that they did create an affordable line for Target last year. All that considered, an acquisition would definitely be a surprise.
