Shao Yen fall 2010 collection
Shao-Yen Fall 2010 Collection at London Fashion Week | Christopher Moore

Shao-Yen Chen is a London based knits designer born in Taiwan. Although a fresh graduate of the Masters Program of Fashion at the prestigious school of Central Saint Martins, he already has internships at Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan and Claire Tough under his belt. His graduation collection – Waver is what brings us here. Creating unexpected silhouettes and volume with only nylon strings, synthetic yarns, cashmere and lycra, it’s no wonder his collection was chosen to participate in London Fashion Week A/W 2010. The collection was “inspired by natural landscapes and seascapes” tells Shao-Yen Chen, and indeed, the shape and movement of the dresses remind that of whitecap waves roaming a rocky shore.

Shao-Yen is currently working on a small Spring/Summer collection, so don’t forget to check back in September. And check out Shao-Yen’s Dazed&Confused interview.
