Gucci and Fewer Logos. In one sentence?

Last Friday, François-Henri Pinault, chairman and chief executive officer of PPR (the mothership of the Gucci Group), announced rising revenues and an upwards momentum.

But then, he also said something interesting, “Our groups are moving toward fewer logos, more discreet luxury,” Pinault noted. “It’s a question of adapting our ranges very rapidly to this new perception of luxury, a luxury which is more subtle, more sophisticated — which is what we are doing.”

Can you imagine? Somewhere a nouveau riche is crying his eyes out.
